PROJECT VAGO
Hi! We’re Erica & Stefan, trading comfort on land for a life of adventure and self-reliance aboard PROJECT VAGO.
We’re not only sailing, we’re learning to live from our own energy and water, reduce our impact, clean the beaches we reach and inspire others to reconnect with nature and simplicity.

Follow our journey as we sail into uncharted waters, raise awareness, share sailing wisdom and capture the highs and lows of a mindful life at sea.
VAGO is more than a boat — it’s our floating home, opening the doors to different adventures, connections and purpose. It’s where we learn to live with less and embrace the endless possibilities of life in motion.

Why Are We Sailing?
For us, sailing is much more than just a means of transportation; it’s a complete lifestyle. It represents our respect for nature, its rhythms, and its rules. Sailing is the opposite of fast travel—it requires patience, awareness and full presence in the moment.
When we set sail, we are focused on everything around us. It’s a practice in preparation, both mentally and physically. Sailing long distances demands thorough readiness—not just on our part, but for the boat as well. Without proper preparation, things can quickly become dangerous, and safety is always our top priority.
The sea can be unpredictable, and a wrong decision can have serious consequences. This understanding is what drives us to always be prepared, to respect the environment and to embrace the challenge of the open water.
